2008 Bullitt Mustang

The 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt is finally here and well worth the wait.

Inspired by the Ford Racing Technology group and is built on the best Ford Mustang platform to date. Over 310hp and 320 ft lb of torque coupled with a sport tuned suspension also ensures that this Mustang won’t be a slouch in the performance dept. As for looks the Dark Highland Green  is back to follow suit from the SN95 Bullitt.

Well worth the wait and then some for such a legend from the past and now the present.

E for Extreme-The Saleen 302E Ford Mustang

The S197 packs a serious punch for show and go. A built and blown 302 ci takes the Ford Mustang from zero to 60 in just under 4 seconds and takes the quarter mile times in just under 12 seconds. The task is accomplished by 620hp / 600 ft. pounds of torque.  The Saleen 302E is probably the sharpest aftermarket S197 Ford has made so far.

This pony doesn’t come cheap however. A price-tag of just under $80,000 ensures that all this power is likely to remain in the hands of a very few.

A full-fledged and born Saleen race-craft suspension system allows the S302 Extreme to guide and channel the 600hp plus down the pavement and allow for firm cornering without any tailspin. An upgraded 6-piston caliper 15″ braking system grabs the rotors and halts the mighty steed when the needs arises.

2008 Shelby GT Super Snake

This S97 Shelby carries just a tad extra, not just in brand name or price but under the hood.

Another 50hp under the hood of the upcoming GT 500 (King of the Road ). 650hp under that bad boy hood.  WOW! Does it get any better?

Another $28,000 over the base GT Shelby 500 gets an owner access to a Ford Mustang with a ton of after market parts made by Ford Racing  Technologies as well as Shelby Automobiles. All of the applications are covered by a standard warranty that is unless you opted for a non-Ford supercharger to sit atop the engine.

This up-grade moves the HP up to a whopping 725 pounding ponies under the hood.

A 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds will bury you into the seat with a smile on your face that will take a week to get rid of. The super snake does have some wheel spin to deal from all those ponies under the hood. It will take you through the 1/4 mile at 119.9 at in 12.5 seconds.

With Ford only producing 1000 of the GT500 KR models the super snake is likely to be even a smaller production.

ROUSH releases 428R Mustang

The Roush performance has released yet another Mustang, the 428R.

Following with the success of the 427R model released last year. Roush is extremely excited to release the 428R  for the 2008 year model offerings. Expect to see the new pony car at authorized Ford dealerships by the end of October.

It’s amazing how much power the engines carry and not just horsepower. The blue blooded fan following that’s been around since the 1960′s keeps the excitement going.

Joe Thompson, Roush performance vice president and general manager, has said that the 427R  released last year is the most popular model Mustang to hit the (after) marke.

With the 427R’s popularity, there is some chance that the 428R might surpass might it’s predecessor. That is until the 429R comes out to surpass it’s predecessor.

Time will tell.

Saleen Extreme Ford GT Paint Scheme

Paying homage to a legendary race car, Saleen Inc. has taken one of their Saleen Extreme Ford Mustangs and applied a beautiful coat of paint to resemble the legendary Ford GT. The  Saleen 550, aptly named, produces a whopping 550 HP and dazzles in more than power with it’s paint scheme and aftermarket styling.

The 550 logo on it’s door helps ensure victims know full well what just blew their doors off.  Steve Saleen’s group continues to impress with each new offering put out on the (after) market place.

ROUSH 427R Trak Pak Ford Mustang

ROUSH Performance has yet to leave the Mustang alone. Another spectacular rendition  of the legendary Mustang is the Roush 427R Trak Pak Ford Musang. From power and suspension upgrades to a unique aerobody kit, this 427R Pak has much to offer any Ford Mustang  fan.

The Ford Mustang boasts a healthy 435HP and 400 ft./lb torque directly attributed to the Roush supercharger blower. Under-hood strut tower braces to help with the power from the twisting motion of all that HP.

Suspension system also gets upgrades from  adjustable front and rear shocks, front and rear springs, stabilizer bars, jounce bumpers, and capped off with adjustable caster/camber plates. Bringing the fun to a halt are 6 piston brake calipers that mash down on 14″ two piece slotted front rotors as well as slotted rear rotors.

A ROUSH 3 piece body kit adorns the car. Kit includes front fascia, front chin spoiler, and a hood scoop to get the full affect. Another option is a carbon fiber rear chin spoiler.

The interior of the special edition includes a 3 gauge dash pod that includes oil temperature, coolant temperature, and a boost gauge. Embedded  in the gauge cluster is a light to let you know when to shift to the next gear. Authentic ROUSH leather seats a shorter shifter and handle and an upgraded performance peddle kit (covering all four peddles) finish up the interior touches.

Extensive trials and testing have been performed on this car’s updates by ROUSH to further ensure that the 58K you spend for the car is well worth the investment.

Shelby Ford Mustang performance parts formed.

Two powerful names in the Ford Mustang montage have coupled together to offer some fantastic aftermarket performance parts.  Shelby automobiles and Scott Drake  Enterprises, Inc have partnered to create Shelby Performance Parts LLC. Together these two names are aimed at making the 2005 and up Ford Mustang soar higher than ever.

Several packages and applications offered were recently unveiled at the Mid-America Shelby & Ford meet in Tulsa, OK, where the Stang Net Glassback GT took stage.

Packages available from the company will include developed enhancements to the handling, styling and power of all current generations V-6 and V-8 Ford Mustangs and Shelbys. Individual components will include up-graded brakes, supercharger packages, suspension components and cosmetic pieces such as hoods and fascias exclusively designed at Shelby Automobiles.

Engine tuning options will range from 300HP (with warranty) for the V-6 Mustang to over to over 750HP from the 5.4L V-8 (without warranty).

Shelby Performance parts will offer the Shelby CS6 and the Shelby GT500 40 anniversary packages, as well as clothing and accessories. Some of those components are part of the new Shelby GT 500 “Super Snake” package for the 2007 and 2008 Ford Shelby GT 500.

The Stang Net GT500 will be present at the CDC sponsored Mid-America Ford Shelby meet in addition to it’s proud owner, Mr. Mike Raburn of Drive9 Media. There are some first ever customizations to this ShelbyGT 500, so be prepared to behold a unique piece of Mustang history as well as a fine automotive specimen.

It all takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a few weeks next month in June if you want to make the trip and see an exciting new Shelby GT500 Mustang. Have fun and take pictures.

Saleen 2007 H281 Heritage Edition Mustang

The growing flavors in the world of  Ford Mustang never seem to quite. Steve Saleen and company aren’t about to let the pony car go without yet another throwback Mustang. The 2007 Saleen H281 Mustang Heritage Edition  will soon be out on the streets  via authorized Saleen dealerships  and direct from the Saleen store.

There isn’t much to talk about for detail on the new Mustang but many hint the car being bumped from the stock 300HP to 330 HP. The gain is achieved by a Saleen “powerflash”, performance tune, under-drive pulleys, and a free flowing air filter.

The only picture I’ve seen is of a white Mustang with a blacken hood, trunk and spoiler in flat black  also with side stripping and the Saleen tail lamps. It is a good looking pony car.

So many choices with so many options and aftermarket accessories for all of us “stang” folks.
