Talk about mark up.
I had spoke with a local Ford dealer about the current status or availability of the very popular Shelby Cobra GT 500 Mustang. As I already pretty much have guessed unless you ordered one almost a year ago there is a very long waiting list to buy one.
What I found out though surprised me to a point though. Like I have mentioned before the going price for a Shelby is the mid 40’s. That is pretty loaded out with all they have available as far as options. They don’t have many options right now.
The price now is jacked up way above and beyond that mid 40’s price to as much as 70-to 75K.
The dealer is really taking advantage of such a popular auto. Guess it’s the ‘ol supply and demand thing.
I think I might wait till they have been out for a year or so and they get the price back in order. Even the Corvette Z06 that comes with 505 HP at the fly wheel didn’t have these high price issues.
Think about it. Does that mean the Mustang Shelby Cobra GT 500 is in that much demand? For some with deep pockets willing to buy one instead of saving a few grand on a bow-tie?
Thanks for reading my thoughts about a car I really enjoy driving and look at.
Hope you do too.
